Alert Press is a not for profit publisher of a series of volumes of student research on the new imperialism, relating to: contemporary intellectual and political advocacy of empire; renewed ideologies of liberal imperialism; humanitarian interventionism; the new military humanism; the militarization of society and culture; the global spread of US military installations; and, the recruitment of the academy by the national security state, among many related issues. Case studies have covered Afghanistan, Haiti, Kosovo, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Colombia, Canada, and the US, among others. We were also the first open access book publisher in anthropology and sociology in the English language.

Alert Press branched off in 2024, opening a second publishing arm that brings you the Caribbean Series. This branch functions on terms different from the above, and no student research is published under this heading. Books under this heading are still available as print on demand, but this may change as we continue to consider options for establishing an independent Caribbean publishing arm.
